This Day in Baseball History:
July 12, 1979 > The Chicago White Sox stage "Disco Demolition Night," where all fans bearing a disco record are admitted to a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers for 98 cents. The records are to be blown up between games, but the scene erupts into chaos and violence when fans storm the field. The ensuing wreckage renders play impossible, and the White Sox are forced to forfeit the second game.
