This Day in Baseball History:
December 5, 1990 > In a blockbuster trade, the San Diego Padres deal second baseman Roberto Alomar and outfielder Joe Carter to the Toronto Blue Jays for first baseman Fred McGriff and shortstop Tony Fernandez. Though all players involved will play well for their new teams, the additions of Alomar and Carter will be especially helpful for the Blue Jays, propelling them to World Series championships in 1992 and '93.
