Rays at the plate: B.J. Upton doubled off the left-field wall in the first inning, scoring Ben Zobrist, who led off with a single. Upton doubled again in the fourth, this time scoring Carl Crawford and taking two extra bases off throwing errors to score himself. The blast put the Rays up 3-2. Zobrist finished 2-for-4 with a walk, and Elliot Johnson singled and scored a run.
Astros at the plate: Tomas Perez hit a double down the right-field line, eventually scoring on a single by Jose Cruz. Cruz went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Ex-Ray Ty Wigginton led off the Astros' four-run sixth with a single. The big inning put the Astros on top, 6-4. Wigginton finished the day 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Victor Diaz was 2-for-3.
Rays on the mound: Jason Hammel started and was charged with four hits and one earned run in three innings. He struck out one and walked none. Dan Wheeler pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit. Gary Glover also pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one walk and one hit. Scott Dohman was charged with four runs on four hits in one inning.
Astros on the mound: Starter Runelvys Hernandez pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing one run off four hits. The righty walked three and had a trio of strikeouts. Stephen Randolph walked back-to-back Rays to load the bases in the third, but came away unscathed, recording no hits or runs in two-thirds of an inning. Jack Cassel was charged with two runs, one earned, off two hits in two innings pitched. Wesley Wright allowed one hit and one run in one inning of work, walking two.

James Shields is scheduled to start for the Rays and Troy Percival is also slated to make his first Spring Training appearance. Houston's Woody Williams will face lefty C.C. Sabathia at home, as the Astros host the Indians at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Fla. at 1:05 E.T.
