TAMPA, Fla. -- Jackie Bradley Jr. continued his torrid pace by recording two of the Red Sox's four hits in a 4-0 loss to the Yankees at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Bradley, who is ranked the club's No. 2 prospect by MLB.com, hit a first-inning double and singled in the ninth. In 19 Grapefruit League games, the outfielder boasts a team-leading .444 average.

New York scored four second-inning runs against Boston left-hander Felix Doubront, as Chris Stewart and Thomas Neal stroked run-scoring singles. Jayson Nix had a sacrifice fly and Doubront threw a wild pitch, allowing another run to score.

Doubront scattered seven hits over 4 1/3 innings in the outing, walking one and striking out five.

Although he took the loss, Doubront was pleased with his performance.

"Yeah, like I say, I felt happy for this outing, because I learned a lot," Doubront said. "I threw so many quality pitches that I felt good about. It was just one inning, it happened. The big thing is that I came back feeling good and making better adjustments that will help me to get through the other innings."

A signee from independent ball who pitched last year at Class A Tampa and Double-A Trenton, Nuno held Boston to two hits over five scoreless innings, walking one and striking out one.

Up next: Right-hander John Lackey, who has looked strong in his comeback from Tommy John surgery, makes the start in Thursday night's 7:05 p.m. ET game on MLB.TV against the Phillies. He will be opposed by Cole Hamels. Andrew Bailey and Andrew Miller are scheduled to make the second of back-to-back appearances out of the bullpen.
