    Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo has been named the 2017 National League Manager of the Year, as announced by the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA). Lovullo is the third D-backs manager to win the honors, joining Bob Melvin (2007) and Kirk Gibson (2011).

The award recognizes the best defensive players at their respective positions as voted by Major League Baseball managers and coaches.

    The Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) announced their finalists for their annual awards, which included Torey Lovullo finishing in the Top 3 in NL Manager of the Year balloting, and Paul Goldschmidt in the NL Most Valuable Player category for the third time in the last 5 years.

  • D-backs fans can swing for their shot at free 2018 season tickets

    The Arizona Diamondbacks will host "Swing for Your Seats" for D-backs Season Ticket Holders this Saturday and Sunday at Chase Field. Current D-backs Season Ticket Holders will have five opportunities to hit a home run at Chase Field to get their 2018 D-backs Season Tickets for free. Season Ticket Holders will also be able to hit various targets on the field for a chance at other prizes.

  • Shelley Duncan to be inducted into Pima County Sports Hall of Fame

    Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) Single-A Advanced Visalia Manager Shelley Duncan will be inducted into the Pima County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 29 at the DoubleTree Tucson at 11:45 a.m. He will be among the 14 athletes and coaches enshrined, including his brother, Chris.

  • D-backs announce 2018 coaching staff

    The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) finalized their 2018 Major League coaching staff under second-year manager Torey Lovullo. The coaching staff will return Mike Butcher as pitching coach (third season), Mike Fetters as bullpen coach (second season, sixth overall), Robby Hammock as quality control/catching coach (second season), Tim Laker as assistant hitting coach (second season), Dave Magadan as hitting coach (third season), Dave McKay as first base coach (fifth season) and Tony Perezchica as third base coach (second season), while promoting Jerry Narron to bench coach (first season, second overall) and adding Luis "Pipé" Urueta as Major League coach (first season). The team promoted Ken Crenshaw to Director, Sports Medicine & Performance to oversee the new department and also promoted Ryan DiPanfilo to head trainer. The club returns Nate Shaw as strength & conditioning coordinator and Ben Hagar as physical therapist, and added Matt Tenney as assistant strength & conditioning coach. The team did not renew the contract of Ariel Prieto as coach and interpreter.
