Pirates announce minor league managers and coaches
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced their minor league managerial and coaching assignments for the 2006 season with the exception of the Lynchburg manager. The announcement was made by Brian Graham, Pittsburgh's Director of Player Development.

Two former coaches with Pittsburgh's major league staff will be reassigned to the minor leagues. Pete Mackanin, who served as the Pirates interim manager from September 6 though the remainder of the season and bench coach for three years, will manage Pittsburgh's Bradenton Pirates of the Gulf Coast League.

Bruce Tanner, who was Pittsburgh's bullpen coach for the last five seasons, will serve as the pitching coach for Williamsport of the New York-Penn League.

Tim Leiper, who managed Lynchburg last season, has been promoted to manager of Double-A Altoona.
