The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Central Blood Bank will host the last of six blood drives in 2009 on Wednesday, October 28 from noon to 7 p.m. inside the press conference room at PNC Park. Almost 600 units of blood have been collected so far this season up from the 233 units that were collected over three blood drives in 2008.
Former Pirate and 1979 World Series Champion Grant Jackson will be on hand at the drive from noon to 3 p.m. to sign free autographs and to take photos with donors. There will be limited free parking in the lot across the street from the press entrance on General Robinson Street compliments of Alco Parking. In addition, all donors will receive a free gift, courtesy of the Pirates.
