Pirates Recall RHP Ross Ohlendorf

The Pirates have recalled RHP Ross Ohlendorf from Triple-A Indianapolis and he will start tonight's game against Milwaukee.
Ohlendorf began the season in the Pirates starting rotation and went 0-0 with a 7.27 ERA in two starts...He left his start on 4/8 vs. Colorado with left shoulder discomfort and was placed on the 15-day disabled list the following day. After making two rehab starts with Class-A Bradenton on 7/14 and 7/19, Ross made one rehab start with Double-A Altoona on 7/24 before being transferred to Indianapolis on 7/29.
He was recalled from his rehab assignment, reinstated from the DL and optioned to Indianapolis on 8/12. Ross went 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA (37.0ip/15er) in seven minor league starts this season - making the first six while pitching on rehab. His last start came last Tuesday (8/16) vs. Louisville (7.0ip/6h/2r/2er/1bb/5so).
To make room on the active roster, the Pirates have designated LHP?Joe Beimel for assignment. In 35 games with the Pirates this season, Beimel went 1-1 with a 5.33 ERA. After posting a 1.42 ERA (6.1ip/1er) in eight games last month, Joe was scored upon in five of his nine games in August, allowing eight runs in 5.2 innings of work.
