Grabow named to Team USA
Left-handed reliever named as a temporary replacement for Fuentes

Grabow pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Pirates on Monday and will now join his U.S. teammates in Clearwater, Fla., on Tuesday to prepare for the Classic. The U.S. team begins play in the 16-round tournament on Saturday, against Team Canada in Toronto.
Grabow will be with the team just through the first round, as Fuentes plans to join Team USA if it advances to the second round. Fuentes, who signed with the Angels this offseason, cited "family issues" as his reason for skipping the early round of pool play.
This is the second time that Grabow will have played for a U.S. baseball team. In 2003, the year the lefty broke into the Majors, he made six appearances during the Olympic Qualifying Team Trials. He was then invited to represent the U.S. in the 2004 Games but was unable to do so since he spent the entire season in the Majors.
With Grabow now scheduled to play in the Classic, the Pirates have four representatives from their 40-man roster in the tournament. Ian Snell and Ramon Vazquez have joined the Puerto Rican team, and Dave Davidson is with Team Canada.
