Bucs, KDKA-FM agree to broadcasting deal

The Pirates and KDKA-FM (Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan) have agreed to a multiyear broadcasting deal that gives the CBS radio affiliate the rights to broadcast all 162 regular season games, in addition to other Pirates-specific programming.

The agreement, which will begin in 2012, was announced at a news conference in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

In addition to carrying regular-season games, Sportsradio 93-7 will also broadcast a minimum of 16 Spring Training games every year. The Pirates' pre- and post-game shows, as well as the "Neal Huntington Show", which airs every Sunday during the season, are going to remain staples even with the change in the team's radio rights holder.

The Pirates' broadcast team will remain intact, with Greg Brown, Tim Neverett, Steve Blass, Bob Walk and John Wehner continuing to call games. Pirates games will also still be heard on the team-owned Pirates Radio Network, which includes 38 radio stations across four states in the Pittsburgh region.
