PITTSBURGH -- President Frank Coonelly will accept the club's award for a commitment to assist minorities at the annual Chuck Cooper Awards Luncheon.
The luncheon, on Feb. 18 at the Lexus Club of PNC Park, will be hosted by the Chuck Cooper Foundation, organized in 2011 to honor the former Duquesne basketball standout who in 1950 became the first African-American player drafted by an NBA team (Boston).
Previous winners of the award -- formerly called the Chuck Cooper Career Achievement in Leadership, Diversity and Community Service Award -- are longtime Steelers scout Bill Nunn Jr. (2011), Bill Strickland of the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild (2012), and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and his wife, Kiya (2013).

Promotional schedule for 2014 announced
PITTBURGH -- Dolls is the buzzword for the PNC Park promotional schedule in 2014, announced on Friday.
Bobblehead dolls of National League MVP Andrew McCutchen (June 28) and co-NL homer king Pedro Alvarez (May 24) highlight the giveaway menu.
In addition, the Goo Goo Dolls will kick off the FanJam Concert Series on Saturday, June 7, following the game against the Brewers.
The extremely popular Zambelli Fireworks will again illuminate the skies following seven Saturday-night games, the first scheduled for April 5 after the game with the defending NL champion Cardinals.
All 13 Friday home games will be Free Shirt Fridays, with T-shirts given to the first 25,000 through the gates.
Single-game tickets on sale Nov. 29
PITTSBURGH -- Tickets for individual games will go on sale on Nov. 29, "Black Friday," and what could be more natural for a team that reset the bar for fan enthusiasm with the famed PNC Blackout for last month's National League Wild Card Game?
Fans will be able to purchase tickets to any 2014 game -- including a limited number available for Opening Day, on March 31 against the Cubs -- beginning at 10 a.m. ET at pirates.com.
The club is introducing three-tier pricing, with all 81 home games classified as White (52 games), Gold (17) and, naturally, Black (12).
The Gold designation has been assigned to Opening Day, all Saturday games beginning in May, and popular matchups against the Red Sox and Phillies.
Black games include Saturday games in April and all Friday games beginning in May, with the exception of the July 4 date with Philadelphia.
In addition to pirates.com, single-game tickets will be available at the PNC Park ticket office and by calling 877-893-2827.
