Major League Baseball and Chevrolet, the official vehicle of MLB, today announced that third baseman David Wright was named the Mets's 2014 nominee for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award presented by Chevrolet.
"On behalf of the Mets, we send our condolences to Joe and the entire Torre family. Frank and I grew up together in Brooklyn and I always looked up to him as a baseball player and thereafter how he conducted himself as a person."
Because of continued soreness in his left shoulder, David Wright was seen today by doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, where David underwent an MRI. The MRI today showed persistent inflammation in the rotator cuff in the left shoulder. There may be additional diagnostic tests later this week as a follow up to the MRI.
