Houston has been struggling of late, and losing in the bottom of the 18th inning won't help matters. Eric Munson couldn't handle a throw from center fielder Willy Taveras that would have nailed Jason Bay at the plate, and the Astros lost their fifth straight in what was the longest game played in the history of PNC Park.
Jason Bay scored the winning run in the 18th inning after a collision at home and homered for the fifth straight game to give the Bucs a win in the longest contest played at PNC Park. Jeromy Burnitz made it all possible with a game-tying homer in the eighth that kept the Pirates' hopes alive.
