Pirates Charities on ROOT SPORTS Auction

Friday, June 10, 2011 - Trib Total Media Hall of Fame Club

The Pirates are proud to partner with ROOT SPORTS to host the Pirates Charities on ROOT SPORTS Auction at PNC Park when the Pirates host the New York Mets at 7:05 p.m. in the Trib Total Media Hall of Fame Club.

The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the telecast begins at 6:30 p.m.

Fans from all around the country will be able to participate and bid on several premier items and experiences in this live on-air auction during the game.

Proceeds from the auction will be used to support area Miracle League programs. Pirates Charities is partnering with the Miracle League of Western PA (Murrysville), the Miracle League of the Ohio Valley (Wheeling, WV) and the Miracle League of South Hills (Upper St. Clair) to construct three new Miracle League fields in our community. Miracle League fields are specially designed and feature a rubberized surface so that children with special needs are able to move about them safely and have the opportunity to participate in the great game of baseball. Pirates Charities helped to construct the first Miracle League field in the greater Pittsburgh region in Cranberry in 2009 in conjunction with the Miracle League of Southwestern PA.

Instructional Clinic with Manager Clint Hurdle and His Staff*
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle and members of his coaching staff* will hold a private clinic for your youth baseball team.
  • The clinic will last one hour
  • If the clinic is in Allegheny or a bordering county (Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland), Clint and his coaches will come to your field on a mutually agreeable date. If you live outside those counties, you and your team will be asked to come to PNC Park for the event due to the Pirates playing schedule.
  • Teams eligible to participate are Little League and above. Total team participants should number from 13 - 15 youth.
  • Each clinic participant will receive a Pirates New Era replica cap, an autographed baseball from the coaching instructors and a commemorative team photo (one copy for each clinic participant)
  • Your team will also be invited to attend a 2011 Pirates home game at PNC Park, complete with complimentary tickets and the opportunity to have your team photo taken on the PNC Park field
