Third Base Coach Tony Beasley was one of 32 Pirates celebrities on hand at Bowling with the Bucs.
The Pirates dedicate their time, effort and resources to countless charitable events and initiatives throughout the Pittsburgh region every year. The Pittsburgh Pirates are committed to improving the overall quality of life for children and adults alike in the city of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

Youth Baseball Programs
Josh Gibson Field
The Pirates helped to renovate and open Josh Gibson Field in the Hill District.
The Pirates have a long tradition of working with youth baseball to help promote the game of baseball, as well as provide young people with the opportunity to participate in a healthy, social activity in a safe and friendly environment.

Located in this section are ways in which your youth baseball association can partner with the Pirates. We are always open to new suggestions and ideas, so if you have one, please contact our Community Relations Department. We'd love to hear from you!

Pirates Wives
Pirates Wives
The Pirates Wives cooked dinner for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh.
The Pirates' wives strive to be just as active in the community as their husbands. In addition to holding fundraisers to help raise money, they volunteer their time to several non-profit organizations in the Pittsburgh area throughout the year.

Spring Training Initiatives

The Pirates lunch program at Bradenton's Wakeland Elementary.
For the past 40 years, the Pirates have called Bradenton, Fla., our winter home and Spring Training site. We consider being a part of the Bradenton community as important as preparing for the Major League season.
