The third annual Pirates 5K Home Run will take place on Saturday, April 13 on Pittsburgh's North Shore. The race -- which begins on the Clemente Bridge and ends on the field at PNC Park -- is open to fans of all ages and abilities, and proceeds will benefit Pirates Charities. The 5K will be accompanied by a One-Mile Family Fun Run.

All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a voucher for a complimentary ticket to a Pirates home game (between April 13 and April 17), and an invitation to a post-race party on Federal Street. In addition, the top male and female 5K runners and the top Team Challenge group in each age category will be recognized on the field at PNC Park prior to the Pirates 7:05 p.m. game against the Cincinnati Reds on the same day as the race.

Anyone interested in registering for the Pirates 5K Home Run or the One-Mile Family Fun Run can do so online at pirates.com/5khomerun. Additional information and a map of the race course are also available at that same web address.

The 5th Annual Pirates Charities Sporting Clays Invitational will be held on Monday, June 10 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Last year more than 140 participants spent the day with current and former Pirates players, plus broadcasters and front office executives, enjoying the scenic and challenging sporting clays course at Seven Springs. In the process, more than $60,000 was raised in support of the many and varied programs of Pirates Charities.

More information will be available soon at pirates.com/piratescharities or by calling (412) 325-4720.

Pirates Charities Golf Classic presented by WPAHS

The 8th Annual Pirates Charities Golf Classic presented by WPAHS will take place on Thursday, July 11 at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. Last year, the tournament included more than 100 participants who had the opportunity to spend the afternoon on the golf course with Pirates players such as Andrew McCutchen, Neil Walker and Michael McKenry; former Pirates like Bill Mazeroski, Grant Jackson and Bob Friend; plus Pirates broadcasters and front office executives.

In 2012, proceeds from the event benefited Pirates Charities programs, including Fields for Kids and Pittsburgh RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner-Cities). The former provides matching grants to help make improvements to youth baseball and softball fields and the latter opportunities for more than 900 underserved youngsters to play baseball and softball in Pittsburgh. Proceeds also helped to support a number of Miracle League Fields in the Pittsburgh region. The Miracle League works to build baseball and softball fields uniquely adapted for children with special needs.

Registration information will be available soon at pirates.com/piratescharities or by calling (412) 325-4720.
