The Pirates Wives once again teamed up with the Gilda's Club of Western Pennsylvania for their 2nd Anniversary Party, a "BBQ with the Bucs"!
Fans of the Pirates and supporters of the Gilda's Club all joined in to help raise money for the Gilda's Club. Their mission is to provide a meeting place where men, women and children living with cancer, along with their families and friends, can join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care.
Over 150 people attended and were able to mingle with players and their wives.

The Pirates Wives present a check to the West Penn Hospital Burn Center Summer Camp.
The Pirates Wives hosted a 'Mystery Grab-bag" fundraiser to raise money for Pirates Charities and the West Penn Hospital Burn Camp on Aug. 17 and Sept. 8.
Fans had the opportunity to purchase mystery boxes for $50 with each box containing an autographed baseball in a ball cube. Each mystery box was identical on the outside so fans did not know which autograph they would receive. They had the opportunity to select their own box and had a chance to receive an autographed baseball from current Pirates players, alumni and players across the league including David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Gary Sheffield, Ivan Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and many, many more.
Prior to the Sept. 25 game, the Pirates Wives, on behalf of Pirates Charities, presented representatives from the West Penn Burn Camp with a $10,000 donation check from the proceeds of this wonderful event!
Pirates Charities is committed to strengthening the community by supporting organizations and programs aimed at improving the lives of children and adults in the greater Pittsburgh area. Pirates Charities places a special emphasis on supporting youth programs focused on health, fitness, and education by developing partnerships with those who share in our mission.
The Burn Center conducts numerous outreach programs with the goals of burn prevention, education, and helping pediatric burn patients gain the confidence to return to normal activities. Summer Camp for Burned Children is a cornerstone component of this last goal. The Western Pennsylvania Hospital's Summer Camp for Burned Children, held each June at Camp Kon-O-Kwee outside Zelienople, Pa., is a program of West Penn's Burn Center. Burn Camp, began in 1986, is an overnight camp that provides a safe, fun environment where children ages 7-17 who have been burned can enjoy the friendship and support of other children who share their experiences. Through the generosity of donors, Burn Camp has been offered free of charge to all children who have been patients in West Penn's Burn Center.

The Pirates Wives visited the AIU3 on Friday, July 13, to participate in their Magical Math Camp as part of their Homeless Children's Initiative.
A main goal of the Homeless Children's Initiative is "to provide activities for and services to homeless children and youth, including preschool-aged children, that enable such children and youth to enroll in, attend, and succeed in school."
-- McKinney-Vento Homeless Act, Subtitle B, Sec.722(d)(2)
Deb Tracy, Jenney Colborn, Kristen Bay, Lindsey Janes and Carrie Velasquez visited with the kids, participated in different educational games, read to the children and presented each kid with a Pirates fleece blanket as well as a pair of tickets to an upcoming Pirates game.
Also, throughout the baseball season, they have asked all the players & coaches to bring home the sample toiletries from the hotel rooms when they are on the road. They then donated a huge basket full of these items for the AIU3 to give to all the homeless shelters.
