Pirates Charities hosted the inaugural Pirates Charities Sporting Clays Invitational on September 17, 2009 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort's beautiful brand new state-of-the-art sporting clays complex. Over 160 people participated in two different flight sessions during the all-day event, which was hosted by award-winning clay shooting instructor Michael Mohr.

Guests were treated to breakfast or lunch, depending on which flight they signed up for, and had the opportunity to shoot with one of many Pirates celebrities in attendance. After the event was over, an awards ceremony took place to honor the winners of both flights.

In all, the Sporting Clays Invitational netted over $40,000 to benefit the many organizations supported by Pirates Charities.
