ABOUT Junior Achievement "Careers In Energy" Program:
The Careers In Energy education program was created to better educate middle and high school students on the opportunities presented by shale gas exploration and production in Pennsylvania, and the industry's impacts both economically and environmentally. This curriculum explores the industry workforce, educational, economic and environmental impacts, providing an educational platform to teach what our children need to do to be successful in this new economic boom. Trained Junior Achievement volunteers from the industry and the community will enter classrooms across the state to instruct students utilizing materials and lesson plans provided by JA. The curriculum gives students a comprehensive, engaging look at topics concerning the industry including jobs, education, economic and environmental impact.
