Jeter's Leaders member since 2008

In a word or phrase, what does leadership mean to you? Responsibility.

Why did you join the program? I joined this program because I wanted to do something more than just school. I wanted to make an impact on society because it is essential to make younger people aware of what can harm them so they can spread the word that drugs and alcohol can harm you.

What have you gained from the program? I have gained new friends and a new perspective as to how I present myself. I am a leader and a role model to others. During my time in the program, I have also learned about new subject areas, such as financing, budgeting and public speaking, which will really help me in my future career.

What is your favorite part of the program? My favorite part of the program is the workshops because most of them tie into my future career of being a sports broadcaster for ESPN. The public-speaking trainings assist me in knowing how to speak properly and provide the skills needed to be a great public speaker.
