PERSONAL: Salvatore Anthony "Torey" Luvullo... Married with three children... Drafted in the 5th round of the 1987 June draft by the Detroit Tigers after graduating from UCLA... Was named to the Sporting News All-America Team as a second basemen in 1987... Father was a producer on the show Hee-Haw.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER: Played 23 seasons of professional baseball, including parts of eight seasons in the Major Leagues... Batted .224 with 15 home runs and 60 RBI in 303 games for Detroit, New York Yankees, California, Seattle, Oakland, Cleveland and Philadelphia... Concluded his career with a season in Japan for the Yakult Swallows in 2000.

COACHING CAREER: Managed for nine seasons in the Indians and Red Sox organizations... Guided Columbus (A) to the South Atlantic League final in his managerial debut and appeared in the playoffs in each of his first four seasons, twice with Kinston (A) of the Carolina League and once with Akron (AA) of the Eastern League ... Was named Carolina League Manager of the Year in 2004 after winning the Carolina League Championship... Followed that up with an Eastern League Championship in 2005 at Akron ... Managed the Indians Triple-A affiliate for four seasons, three in Buffalo (2006-08) and one in Columbus (2009), prior to moving into the Red Sox organization as manager of Pawtucket of the International League ... Made his debut as a coach at the Major League level in 2011 ... Served the last two seasons as First Base Coach for the Toronto Blue Jays under John Farrell.
